Dana Williams is a Co-Founder and Executive Director of The Community Wellness Project (CWP). She has been in the field of HIV/AIDS/STDS since 1987 and has an established history in providing Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) to community based and AIDS service organizations as well as state and local health departments around the country. As a public health consultant, she has extensive experience in writing, developing, implementing and evaluating many HIV/AIDS/STD programs and training curriculums including; Prevention Case Management, Effective-Street and Community Outreach strategies, and Community Mobilization.

Ms. Williams has years of experience in managing Federally Funded grants and contracts and continues to serve as a national training partner for the Center for Disease Control, the Office of Minority Health and the Office of Women’s Health. Ms. Williams is a master-level trainer for the American Red Cross HIV/AIDS Instructor Course in both the African American and Fundamentals programs and is considered a lead trainer for the Centers for Disease Control Capacity Building Assistance Branch (CBB) for their Evidence Based Interventions (EBI’s).  They are: Popular Opinion Leader (POL), Sisters Informing Sisters about Topics on AIDS (SISTA), Real AIDS Prevention Project (RAPP), Defend Yourself (d-Up!), Women Involved in Life Learning from Other Women (WILLOW), Focus on Youth + ImPACT, (FOY) (NIA), A Program of Purpose, (VOICES/VOCES), Video Opportunities for Innovative Condom Education & Safer Sex, (SIHLE), Sisters Informing, Healing, Living, and Empowering, Fundamentals of HIV, CRCS and CTRS as well as serving as an advisor to the CDC  Diffusion Team Members, Training and Development Team Members and other CDC Service Providers.  Under Dana’s Executive Director guidance; CWP has an established history in the community, nationally and internationally including the implementation of SISTA abroad in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2009 under the National Alliance of State & Technical AIDS Directors (NASTAD) as well as traveling to Grand Anse, Grenada for the Caribbean Coalition of National AIDS Programme Coordinators (CCNPPC).  Dana’s implementation of SISTA also includes “SISTA for Caribbean Women of St. Kitts” in 2010 with the Caribbean HIV & AIDS Alliance.  Dana Williams has served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross, for over 15 year and has officiated on many local and national advisory boards.  In 2013, Master Level Trainer Dana Williams recently travelled to Tanzania to facilitate the WILLOW intervention.
