What is CBA? 

Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) focuses on maintaining and increasing the infrastructural systems and resources necessary to support and implement interventions.  Capacity also builds core competencies, of individuals and organizations to effectively deliver HIV prevention services.

Capacity Building Assistance – Strengthening Interventions for HIV Prevention

 Examples:

·        Adaptation, implementation, and cultural tailoring of science-based interventions

·        Quality assurance and evaluation

·        Needs assessment, priority-setting and preparation for delivery of interventions

·        Development of effective health communication messages

The Capacity Building Branch at CDC has integrated CBA resources through the NCHSTP/DHAP “Divisions of HIV/AIDS Prevention” website.

Targeting a social network

Mapping friendship groups

Identifying opinion leaders

Monitoring the evolution of the implementation cycle
