Program goals
This program is designed to provide comprehensive education on firearm safety. Services include the distribution and instruction on the use of gun locks, gun safes, and cable locks. Additionally, participants receive education on Illinois state firearm laws, including the Firearm Restraining Order (FRO). Clients are guided on what the FRO is, who is eligible to utilize it, and under what circumstances it should be applied. The program also addresses mental health concerns, specifically focusing on suicide awareness and prevention related to firearm access.
