These services are aimed at helping the Black community in St. Louis and Illinois prosper. We want everyone to have access to health education, prevention, testing and treatment.

Services provided

As a proudly Black-led organization, the Community Wellness Project is focused on filling in the gaps in healthcare for our Black and LGBTQIA+ neighbors. Our multi-faceted programming, prevention services and wellness education serves people who face risks and barriers to high-quality healthcare and other support services.

HIV testing and prevention

  • Free one-minute HIV testing
  • Free condoms (male and female) and lube
  • Free peer navigation, linkage to CARE support, and CARE case management
  • PrEP services

STI testing and prevention

  • Free testing for chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis
  • Free condoms (male and female) and lube
  • Treatment referral services
  • Sexual wellness retreats and social support referral services

Mental health services

  • Safe space for community members
  • Support services for Black cisgender women (born assigned and currently identify as female) and Trans women
  • Support groups

Substance misuse and harm reduction

  • Free HEP-C testing and treatment referral services
  • Free Narcan and harm reduction kits
  • Clean syringe/needle exchange

Food pantry

  • Our food pantry is available during our opening hours to anyone in need. 

Computer lab

We believe that access to technology is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Our Community Computer Lab is a free, safe, and welcoming space designed specifically for community members who need reliable access to digital tools, resources, and support.

  • Free computer and high-speed internet access
  • Job search and career readiness help
  • Digital literacy support for those who need help navigating websites, setting up email accounts or learning basic computer skills
  • Essential office resources like printing, scanning and faxing for important documents, housing applications and legal paperwork
  • A quiet, supportive environment for community connection

Our NEW mobile unit helps us spread the love! We now offer education, testing and prevention services from our mobile unit.
